A dynamic evening of interaction as students from the Parsons The New School for Design exhibited their work. The projects featured were developed over the Spring 2014 semester as part of Parsons Collab program. The class, Design for Literacy class, was create by DERT co-founder Marcos Chavez and partnered Parsons students with DERT and TODA. DERT co-founder Ernesto Chavez participated in the class leading design briefings and reviews with students. The class created concepts for cultural literacy tools which are targeted to global teens. The projects displayed included innovative use of print and digital mediums. DERT will be taking selected pieces as part of their literacy promotion efforts to a community group in El Salvador. The games will be part of a broader workshop effort which will seek to enhance different aspects of literacy.
