31 May Introducing the Little Book and DERT’s first Kickstarter campaign
In the spring of 2018, DERT is introducing its first ever Kickstarter campaign to help bring The Little Books, its first board books, to life.
The Little Number Book and The Little Letter Book were designed and illustrated by Sage Smith, a New York City based designer. These books are the newest addition to the DERT family and were designed with the ambition of introducing toddlers to the experience of reading, as well as creating educational books that help families engage together to start the journey of letters and numbers and help kids prepare for school.
The Little Number Book and The Little Letter Book stand out for being both bold and simple at the same time – while always maintaining a sense of fun and inclusion. Sage uses fun, clean, and bright designs to encourage children to interact with what they are reading. The characters in the books are intentionally illustrated to not look like any certain kind of person, race or gender, so that any child can identify with the imaginary friends in the books.
The Kickstarter campaign needs backers’help to be able to make the books a reality, as hard cover board books cost a lot to print. The campaign will run throughout June 2018 and we’re offering some great Kickstarter rewards for backers who want to help support the cause.
